Enhancing the spiritual life of our parish

The Sacristan role is very important in helping our priest to be prepared for Mass. This duty begins 20 minutes before Mass and ends approximately 15 minutes after Mass. This person is responsible for getting all supplies ready for Mass as well as being another adult in the Sacristy so that Father is not alone with minors according to Diocese guidelines. 

Sacristan Expectations

Serving at Mass and other liturgies is an important role because the server is assisting, not just the priest, but the whole worshipping community. Hence, altar servers are called to be aware of their role and their responsibility in performing it well.

Greeters welcome parishioners and visitors to Mass. These are the first faces our parishioners and visitors see when they enter our church.

We hope to provide a welcoming, joyful entrance to our church through greeters who reach out to open doors and say, "Hello!" to all who enter. 

Lectors are readers, who proclaim the Word of God at liturgies. All new lectors will have a training session prior to being assigned. 

Lector Expectations

Laity who assist the clergy in the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass, as well as to those who are home-bound or sick, are called "Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion."

Ushers assist the faithful before and during Mass as well as taking up the collection.

Usher Expectations

Families in our parish are invited to volunteer as Offertory Families, who present gifts at the altar during Mass. This a wonderful ministry that even the youngest parishioner can participate in.  There is no extra time needed for this ministry.

Simply pick up the small cross at the entrance of church and return it to the back when the ushers come forward to begin the collection.

Sacred Music is a vital component of the Holy Mass. We are always looking for  people to share their talent as a vocalist or musician.
